Been doing quite a bit of research into various archives around the world that it might be interesting to work with on a project I'm currently forming. The above series of photos are taken from the Historic Houses Trust, based in Sydney. They're from the photographic archive of the Justice & Police Museum. The photos and the brief stories that go with them make for poignant reading. In fact what's most heartbreaking is what isn't said, and what you have to assume: about how and why these photos were taken in the first place, and where these women would have ended up.
