studies in indirect communication vol. xxvii: soliloquy part two




So the cut-up I made wouldn't work as a monoprint at the weekend... too complex, too weak, too logistically hard to ink up and lay down (although it could make a good screen-print). But in transporting it I did decide that I rather like it (nay, prefer it) as a more sculptural piece. I love the fact that when you hang it up on the wall, it can't carry its own weight and it collapses in on itself. Isn't that exactly what happens when you have one-sided dialogue? You tie yourself in all sorts of funny knots…

Although orange is far easier to photograph, I might try the next one in clear acetate…
