good things & movements

I think I can probably finally tell everyone... A truly excellent way to kick off a new week… a contract in my inbox yesterday.

So honoured to discover the other day that I've been offered a book arts residency grant to work at Women's Art Workshop (pictured above, way back when) in Rosendale, New York later this year. God - and in all honesty, my kind and supportive colleagues at the University of Plymouth - willing.

A couple of videos of the place and what it does, that make me shout 'Yay!' on many different levels. How very, very exciting. WSW residencies are funded in part by the New York State Council on the Arts, Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts. So I'm chuffed. This really is just what I need. A focused change for a while. And finally, some really proper time to just concentrate on this creative stuff that I do. And in America. It's been a long time coming. I promised myself I would get over there someday, and looks like it's finally happening. Took a lot to get here. And turns out all those print workshops I've been doing of late will be very useful indeed…

More information nearer the time.
